Preventative Care:
While brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing
regularly are exceptional ways to maintain a fresh
and healthy mouth, routine dental visits are
required to achieve optimal dental health. Dr.
Metropol offers a variety of preventative care
solutions to ensure the health of your teeth and
gums, including oral examinations, regular
cleanings, fluoride treatments, and periodontal
treatment.
Gum
Treatment:
Dr. Metropol offers a non-surgical approach
for treatment of early and moderate periodontal
(gum) disease. This treatment allows us to help the
patient arrest developing gum problems thus avoiding
expensive and extensive surgical procedures.
Removal of decayed or damaged portions of teeth and
replacing those portions allows us to preserve your
natural teeth. New amalgams are safer and tooth
colored fillings are available. These bonded fillings
are an effective, virtually undetectable means to
restore your teeth. Utilizing a durable resin,
tooth-colored fillings are strong and
natural-looking. People around you will believe
you've always had a flawless set of teeth.

Smoking Cessation:
Because of the negative effects of cigarette smoking
on gums, teeth, tooth color, and the risk of oral
cancer, our practice actively encourages our
patients to quit the use of tobacco products.
Without criticizing, we encourage smoking cessation
with a support program.
There are certain extreme instances in which a tooth
cannot be saved. In such cases, we extract the
damaged tooth in order to prepare your mouth for a
restorative dentistry solution such as dentures or
dental implants.

Crowns
For patients who have had endodontics treatment
or have a damaged tooth that cannot be repaired with
fillings, but has strong base and root, the tooth
can be sealed with a durable permanent porcelain
crown. These crowns custom made and colored matched
to your natural teeth.

TMJ
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the point at
which the skull and jawbone meet. This complex joint
can be the source of pain and discomfort for many
individuals. Some common TMJ problems include a
clicking, locking, or popping jaw as well as ear,
neck, and facial pain. Our office provides effective
TMJ treatment. Since many TMJ disorders are caused
by an imbalanced bite, our two most common TMJ
treatments involve occlusal splint therapy, which
involves a nighttime bite appliance, and
occlusal equilibration, which involves the selective
polishing of certain teeth. If you are suffering
from a TMJ disorder, Dr. Metropol will help find the
proper treatment for you..

Full
Dentures
For patients who have lost all of their teeth, full
dentures are an exceptional solution.
Custom-designed to fit one's mouth, dentures fit
securely over your gums and are kept in place by the
mouth and cheek muscles. Dentures help maintain
proper alignment for the mouth, cheeks, and other
facial features, reducing the effects of loss of
teeth and aging gums and jaw bones. Dentures also
can make it easier to chew and eat some of the foods
you enjoyed prior to the loss of your full set of
teeth. In addition, you may find that your speech
becomes clearer with properly fitted dentures. Of
course you will regain your beautiful smile!

Partial Dentures
In situations in which a patient is missing several
teeth, partial dentures may be used to restore both
appearance and function. Custom-fabricated for each
patient, partial dentures can help restore the
structure of a patient's facial features, provide
stability, additional strength and create the
appearance of a full set of teeth.
